Welcome To BLD

WE WELCOME YOU TO “BUKAS LOOB SA DIYOS” CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC COVENANT COMMUNITY NORMALLY REFERRED TO SIMPLY AS BLD. BLD LITERALLY MEANS “OPEN IN SPIRIT TO GOD”.

BLD VISION

We are a community of disciples inspired by the Holy Spirit to be living witnesses for transformation in Christ to bring about a world of justice, human development and true peace.

BLD MISSION

IN RESPONSE TO THE CHALLENGES OF OUR PARTICULAR PLACE, TIME, AND CULTURE:

1. FOR OUR FAMILIES:
We will evangelize families and build communities of faith through encounters, Life in the Spirit Seminars (LSS) and discipleship formation.

2. FOR OUR BLD COMMUNITIES:
We will give formation on personal and family prayer, pro-life values, Catholic social teachings, and stewardship. We will actively participate in the life and mission of the church in accord with our God-given gifts.

3. FOR OUR COUNTRY:
We will work on poverty alleviation through scholarships, housing for the poor, and advocacies for life, environment, and good governance.

THE YOUTH MINISTRY

YOUTH FOUNDATION VERSE : Call to Evangelize

1 Timothy 4:12 – “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”

In a time when the land was oppressed by foreign invaders, four young individuals—Elias, Jonah, Miriam, and Hannah—were each stirred by a divine calling. Elias, a shepherd boy known for his courage, received a vision in a dream instructing him to gather his people and lead them through a hidden valley to safety. Jonah, a blacksmith’s apprentice with a fiery spirit, was called to forge weapons not for war, but for protection—shields engraved with scriptures to remind the people of God’s promises. Though young, their hearts burned with faith, and together they rallied their village against despair.

Meanwhile, Miriam and Hannah were gifted with wisdom and grace beyond their years. Miriam, a healer, was guided by the Lord to tend the wounded and comfort the brokenhearted, spreading hope through her touch. Hannah, an orphan raised in the temple, was called to speak prophetic words that turned leaders from selfishness back to God’s ways. The four youths, through obedience and unity, led a movement of spiritual revival and deliverance. Their courage inspired a generation, proving that age is no barrier when God’s purpose is at work in willing hearts.

Throughout Scripture, God raised up young people to carry out His plans in moments of great need. David, just a shepherd boy, bravely defeated Goliath, proving that victory belongs to the Lord, not to size or strength (1 Samuel 17). Joseph, sold into slavery as a teen, rose to power in Egypt and saved nations from famine through God-given wisdom (Genesis 37–50). Daniel, taken captive as a youth, remained faithful in a foreign land and was used by God to influence kings and preserve His people (Daniel 1–6). Jeremiah, called while still a boy, was appointed as a prophet to the nations, proclaiming God’s word in difficult times (Jeremiah 1:4–10).

God also called young women to pivotal roles in His plan. Esther, a young queen, risked her life to save her people from genocide, trusting God’s purpose for her (Esther 4:14–16). Mary, the mother of Jesus, humbly accepted her divine calling to bear the Messiah, despite the cost (Luke 1:26–38). Miriam, as a young girl, helped protect her baby brother Moses and later led the women of Israel in worship (Exodus 2:1–10; 15:20–21). Ruth, though widowed young, chose to follow God and became part of the lineage of Christ through her faithfulness and courage (Ruth 1–4). These eight young lives—male and female—stand as lasting testimonies that age is no barrier to being used mightily by God to protect, lead, and redeem His people.

Why Evangelize?

Isaiah 40:30-31 – “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”

MODEL INTERCESSOR OF THE YOUTH

BLESSED CARLO ACUTIS : “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven!”

Blessed Carlo Acutis (often mistakenly called “Paolo”) was an Italian teenager who became a powerful model of holiness for today’s youth. Born in 1991, Carlo was deeply devoted to the Eucharist from a young age. He used his passion for computers and technology to spread the faith, creating a website that documented Eucharistic miracles around the world. Despite being a typical teen who enjoyed sports and video games, he stood out for his kindness, humility, and deep prayer life. Carlo died of leukemia at just 15 in 2006, offering his suffering to God. He was beatified in 2020 and is widely considered a patron for young people in the digital age. His famous quote, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven!”, continues to inspire youth around the world.
